Shop Foreman

Department: Building Management
Location: Cockeysville, MD

Maryland Masonic Homes a Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Cockeysville, Maryland has an immediate opening for a Full-time Shop Foreman.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintenance of the facility and is expected to perform general maintenance duties throughout the complex with little or no supervision. Must comply with departmental regulations and procedures while performing duties.
  • Perform general maintenance duties in the following: carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, general repair work.
  • Repair equipment that does not require specialized training. Perform tasks requiring high skill levels and technical expertise above and beyond the skill levels of the Mechanics I and II
  • Takes a leadership role and acts as a technical resource to Mechanics I and Mechanics II, helping them troubleshoot problems and assuring they meet the quality and safety standards of their particular profession.
  • Oversee the completion of projects as directed by the Director of Building Management.
  • Assists the Director of Building Management with orientation and training of new Maintenance employees.
  • Provides mentoring and training to staff members, as directed by the Director of Building Management.
  • Maintains an inventory of parts and participates in the purchase of supplies and equipment. Oversee the care and maintenance of the equipment and tools.
  • Care for maintenance equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Must have extensive previous experience in maintenance.
  • Must have working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and machinery mechanics.
  • Must possess advanced training or certification in a mechanical skill (e.g., HVAC Certification, Master Electrician, Master Plumber).

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
  • Must understand basic mechanical systems and processes.
  • Must be able to diagnose system and equipment failures and correct them.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week & week-end rotation) with benefits to include: medical, dental & vision insurance, short & long term disability, $25,000 life insurance, 401(k) Plan with matching contributions, PTO and Sick Hours (based on the Maryland Sick & Safe Law), paid holidays

Compensation is based on experience.
