Maryland Masonic Homes (MMH), is a continuing care retirement community located in northern Baltimore County. MMH provides quality care in independent, assisted living, healthcare, and rehab care.
MMH has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Grounds Coordinator to join the MMH Building Management Team. The Grounds Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Building Operations Manager.
Education: High School Diploma Required
Experience: 2-3 years previous grounds maintenance experience required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleans off the terrace level patio and outside of resident areas, courtyard patio and the main entrance/balcony area to remove any debris on a daily basis. Also places the cushions on each chair and raises the umbrellas, when appropriate.
Cleans off patios and entry ways for Buildings 302, 304, and 306 on a daily basis.
Cleans loading docks daily.
Patrols the property, common areas and roadways twice daily and removes any loose trash, tree limbs or dead animals and disposes of them properly.
Assures all exterior lighting is functioning properly.
Inspects property for maintenance needs i.e., broken fences, chains, damaged benches, and the pavilions. Coordinates with the Maintenance Supervisor any major repairs needed.
Oversees the grounds maintenance program provided by the Landscape Contractor to insure neat, safe, and professional work. Coordinates weekly with the site superintendent from the Landscape Contractor on the weekly schedule and work assignments to ensure they are following the contract guidelines. Updates management with any issues.
Inspects the two storm water management ponds located on MMH property for general cleaning and vegetation control. This includes installation/removal of seasonal equipment.
Cleans and maintain stormwater drains.
Inspects and maintains all ground equipment owned by MMH to ensure equipment operates properly. Inventory this equipment monthly.
Inspects all pole signs throughout the property for the condition of each sign, level, and maintenance/painting needs.
Maintains parking lots – repaints lines, repairs minor blacktop deficiencies, repairs to walkways etc.
Maintains the 306 building and other equipment storage areas.
Trains new grounds maintenance personnel, as requested.
Manages the snow removal program by evaluating the weather condition and determining if the maintenance team needs to be called in for snow removal or if it can be handled by the Grounds Coordinator. Checks the lots each morning for icy spots and treats accordingly. Maintain salt and ice melt inventories and keep the entrances stocked with product during the winter season. Trains the maintenance team in snow removal. Schedule appropriate personnel for weather events.
Repairs sidewalks to ensure safety.
Visually inspects gutters and downspouts to assure functionality. Cleans gutters on Terrace patio and Chapel quarterly or more often if needed.
Has the ability to coordinate appropriate staffing for larger projects.
Develops, implements, and monitors job training and safety programs to ensure that all crew members are properly educated on safety policies and procedures related to care of the property.
Produces Supply Requisitions for products, materials and equipment needed.
Ensures that appropriate levels of inventory are maintained for all grounds supplies.
Power washes decks, patios, walkways, loading docks and other areas as needed quarterly and periodically before special events.
Removes fallen trees.
Participates in the On-Call Program and works the weekend rotation schedule. On-call coverage is for one week beginning Monday at 7:00 AM lasting through the following Monday at 7:00 AM. An on-call call phone is provided at the start of the on-call rotation. The scheduled on-call participant is required to answer the phone call or respond back within 20 minutes of the original call. They are required to be able to return to Maryland Masonic Homes and the Grand Lodge of Maryland within one hour of the initial call.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Compensation: based on experience $22-$27
