Medical Biller (SNF)

Location: Cockeysville, MD

The Grand Lodge of Maryland located in Cockeysville, MD has an immediate opening for a full-time (Monday through Friday), 35 hours per week, 8a-4p with a 1 hour meal break Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Medical Biller.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the following:

  1. SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility) billing practices,
  2. Medicare/Medicaid regulations
  3. third party payer requirements

This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to optimize revenue and support patient services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, review, and submit electronic and paper claims for skilled nursing services to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers.
  • Review patient accounts for billing accuracy accuracy and compliance with payer guidelines.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, including Medicare Part A, Part B, and Medicare Advantage plans.
  • Monitor and follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and underpayments to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies or documentation issues.
  • Stay updated on payer policies, SNF billing rutes (such as PDPM), and industry standards.
  • Post payments and adjustments in billing software; reconcile accounts and generate reports as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and at[ federal/state billing regulations.

Qualifications:

  • .High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in medical billing, with specific experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SN F) billing.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing, PDPM, UB-04 claims, and payer reimbursement guidelines.
  • Proficiency in billing PCC software preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines with high accuracy.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and clearing house systems.
  • Experience in handling audits and appeals.

Compensation, Benefits, Hours:

  • $28.00 to $31.00 per hour
  • Monday through Friday, 8a-4p with a 1 hour unpaid meal break (35 hours per week)
